Cary Parking Lots
I grew up in the South. I still live in the South (supposedly). Because of my upbringing, you might say that I have certain expectations about manners. These expectations have been fueling frustrations recently. These frustrations typically erupt when I am going to the grocery store to pick up some last minute items. As I am walking into, or out of the store, inevitably there are cars trying to leave the parking lot. Where I’m from you YIELD to pedestrians, and let people walk across the parking lot to get into the store, or get to their cars. Not so, in Cary, NC. Oh no, in Cary you had better be careful walking into a store or you might just get whacked. I have started throwing my arms up in the air and staring at drivers. Probably not safe, but I feel it is necessary.

One of my pet peeves: People who don’t yield to pedestrians. I can assure you this also happens in Raleigh, Five Points in particular. You’re definitely taking your life into your own hands if you try to cross the street on foot anywhere in that area!
